how many of you guys remember the guy spaceman? he actually did an experiment one time at Melrose High in the auditorium my senior year....he took the butts off of fire flies and mixed it with whateva they eat and made chemical electricity! i have told friends and relatives all over memphis and the U.S. about him and people dont believe me....he once made me a gas powered scooter with an old weed eater motor and some broken bike. parts...i saw him about 4 yrs ago at autozone, my battery kept going dead in my car....he remembered me...he gave me a battery that he made which was about the size of a standard bible, i asked him what was inside the battery he told me some kinda isolated energy that he "concocked" from ONIONS and acid...he put the battery in my car it worked perfect, when i would take my car to the shop mechanics would be like what is this or what the hell is that...the battery was so small , some mechanics would even ask "where is your battery"? ..one time i left my parking lights on all night....the car crunk right up, no boost off needed...it did have a lil oniony smell though LOL ..me carlos rogers, kevin rogers, curtis woods, kevin marshall etc.. used to like go over his house or behind airways jr. high to see what kinda contraption he was making.....he actually had a helicopter that he made!

I remember Spaceman. I heard he passed? Is that true? If not, can someone find him? We need his green technology and I would like to talk to him. I remember that demonstration at Melrose with the lightning bugs, etc... I have told so many people about this guy and no one believes it.

When Chuck (Mayfield) and I were kids, we used to see him at Tops Barbeque on Lamar, he had vehicles that were remote controlled, and used various vegetable oils (tomato juice, etc) and water as fuel. He also had the fancy removable hardtops with scissor lifts. It was crazy. Does anyone have pictures of his vehicles?

Space man use to pull up in Sky Lane Apts. Whenever any get near his car, he would make the lamborguini doors go up and down. Wasn't he on the show "That's Incredible"? What up Marv? forgive me for not hollering back at 'cha.

LaBelle is the name of the street, in between Frisco and Durby Circle. My parents still reside nearby, but Spaceman has moved.

My God!! This man was amazing! Thanks for starting this discussion. General Motors was interested in some of the things this guy could do! I have often wondered what happened to him. I had a Pinto and I took it to him to fix a brake cylinder, my clutch and pressure plate. You have to drop the transmission to fix the clutch. This would normally take at least a couple of days for any normal shop, but I dropped it off about 10 pm at night and he had it fixed early that morning and I drove it to school. I have a lot of good memories of this great man....Oh! You could only pay him in multiples of seven! :) lol!

He actually built a car. It ran off of his own energy fuel. He fabricated the body parts himself. I have never known anyone like him and probably may never be in the presence of anyone like him.

I remember the time that he came to Melrose. I was so amazed. I have told a lot of people that exact same story. He powered everything on stage that day from a little box. A television, radio, and several other things. My step Dad told me about the helicopter. I don't know how true it is but he said that he actually flew the helicopter into a Melrose football game once. Do any one know if he is still living? He was a genius. I am willing to bet that a lot of the technology that we see today came from him. Remote control cars, key less entry, lithium batteries etc. He was doing those type of thing with ease. He understood the mechanics of things. He understood that every thing was simple and that our thought were only complicated. I bet that a lot of people don't know that he couldn't read at least not in the manner that we did. A pure genius and he lived a very simple life.
