I put this on the Pastors and Ministers page and thought the class might be interested....actually I felt led to share this with our class. Someone needs to read this during this holiday season. It's kind of long, and I do apologize for that, but here it is.My most recent message title was "It Came to Pass." We can view circumstances that come upon us as trials from Satan or tests from God. I prefer to view them as tests from God. The thing about tests is that God allows them to invade our lives only for a season. As the song says, "Trouble don't last always-weeping may endure for a night." Therefore, tests don't come to stay; they come to pass (away from our lives.) Not only do tests come to pass (away), they also come that we may pass them. Just as school teachers give tests to students, not to fail the tests but to pass them, so, too, God gives us test that we might pass them. Tests show us where we are in our walk with God and let us see where we need to allow God to grow us up. God never intended for us to remain stagnant, but we can't grow if we don't know in what areas we need to grow. Not only does He want us to pass the tests, He wants us to pass on to the next level. Something's wrong if a 6th grader is never able to pass to the 7th grade....the next level, and remember, there are levels within the levels. K-5 is elementary. Sixth-8th is middle, and 9th-12th is high school. Then it doesn't stop there. You go on to college and even grad school. God desires that we master all the materials and pass all the "tests" to get up to all the various levels of our faith walk. With God, we never stop learning, never stop growing, and He's committed to going through our tests with us, for He said, "Lo, I'll be with you always"....not just when things are going good but even at your lowest point, God and His love remains with us all (believer). Keep your chip up. Keep your joy, for whatever is troubling you now, just remember, "It Came To Pass." Stay encouraged my brothers and sisters!!
